Hi Brigitte, I started reading and now want to know what happens next! A good sign ( for me at least) that I’m going to enjoy your book very much. I agree with you that it will need more editing, but the story draws you in immediately! I’d like to think Gordon isn’t quite so obnoxious and that somewhere inside is a nice chap who has lost his way! Especially if Colin Firth is going to play him in a six part series! Agree Lesley Mandeville is a perfect choice also! I’ve had my bus pass for a while now and quite tempted to go off on an adventure… although I’d take my husband of 42 years with me!! good luck with the publishing side, i hope it happens soon xx
Thank you so much for reading my snippet Marilyn and for the lovely feedback. I agree that it does need some more editing. I admit that editing isn't my thing and I do miss things that need tweaking but if I ever get someone happy to publish it, a professional editor will do that for me. I don't want to give anything away but Gordon should grow on you. He's got a soft side!
I would love to go on an adventure but think I'll leave my husband at home. Not that he's anything like Gordon....well, not much!! xx
I was thinking that…. leave the editing to someone else… your job is the creative one; without people like you having ideas and writing a story editors would be redundant!! the spelling/punctuation etc is the boring bit and if you worry too much about it you lose the creative flow.
As you say ( and proved by moving to Cornwall) its never too late for an adventure! So where are you thinking of going? The isles of Scily sound interesting and not too far for a first trip!!
I’d love to go to the Isles of Scilly. I can see the boat that sails there from my balcony. It does have a reputation though for being a bit of a bumpy ride.
I’d love to go on a women’s retreat or a cooking holiday. My bucket list destinations are the north of Norway or Antarctica. I would happily do another solo cruise. Where would you like to go? Money no object.
I remember reading about Maggie and Gordon on your previous blog as well and really enjoyed it. I desperately want to know what happens next! Can’t wait for the next instalment.
I don’t think I’ll be posting instalments again but fingers crossed you will one day get to read it in book form. I just need to pull my finger out and get on with making that happen….hopefully! xx
No problem Francey. Have a lovely book group meeting. I still need to find a book group here. If you get a chance to read it then that would be fab. Just remember that it might be a bit rough around the edges! xx
